Operating Principle
The oil separator is designed to allow heavier solids to settle at the bottom of the tank while lighter substances rise to the surface. Oil is separated from the wastewater by means of a coalescing filter, which helps small oil droplets combine into larger droplets, making them easier to separate from the water.
The floating oil layer, together with a properly installed ventilation system, helps prevent unpleasant odours from escaping from the tank. The separated wastewater flows out through the middle section of the chamber.

Operation and Maintenance
The oil separator has no special operating or maintenance requirements. It operates quietly, has a long service life and does not incur significant operating costs.
Under normal operating conditions, the main maintenance requirement is the periodic removal of accumulated oil. This can be carried out by a company providing wastewater and sewerage services.
